In his civilian guise, Green Lantern is mugged leaving a bookstore. Hearing a report of the incident on the radio, the Flash summons the League to his hospital bedside. They find an eye witness who is the daughter of a man Lantern had previously tried to save and who gave to him a password to present to the bookstore owner in return for a package. When they track down the daughter, they have to rescue her from historical figures who attempt to kidnap her. Meanwhile, other historical characters attempt to kidnap Green Lantern but are defeated. The figures are revealed to be the Royal Flush Gang who need to get both the daughter and Lantern to decipher the words on the map they stole from Lantern when they mugged him, a map that will lead them to treasure. They decipher the words eventually but the League track to the treasure hoard and capture them.
