A criminal known as the Masked Matador is terrorizing the city, using his matador's cape to somehow commit his robberies. In their first encounter, the Matador eludes Daredevil when a window washer's platform breaks, distracting Daredevil while the Matador escapes. In their second encounter, at a costume party, the Matador defeats Daredevil with the unwitting help of a noisy crowd that made it hard for Daredevil to function. Matt then takes a different approach, researching the Matador's true identity, and announcing to the world that Matador and Daredevil are actually the same person. This draws the Matador to the offices of Nelson and Murdock, where Daredevil is waiting for him. The final confrontation then begins in a very public location.
